Window Safety – A Growing Concern

More and more home accidents are involving children falling from heights. In fact, falls from heights is the leading cause of death for children under the age of five. The most frequent falls occur in the summer, when small children fall through open windows. Take these precautions and spare yourself and your family needless heartache and loss:

  • Install window safety guards on all window that kids can reach
  • Have windows installed that open from the top down
  • Keep furniture away from windows
  • Lock all unopened windows
  • Do not rely on screens, alone, to prevent a child from falling out a window
